Lots of tyre pressure talk today and several occasions of parrot observation (code for bogged and have to have another run at a dune)
Anyway, I was in the lead today and once tyres were down to about 14.5 in front and 19.5 in back, life was much easier.
Being in the lead meant waiting when others were doing tyre pressures or having a bit of difficulty getting over a dune.

Colours and sights of the Simpson

Some sort of critter hole with a collection of discarded plant husks beside it.

Up and nearly over a dune

Cresting the top, you often cant see over to the other side.

Beautiful reds and greens and creams with the perfectly blue sky.

Here comes Stef

After lunch Steve put up his drone. I took Milani and Steve took footage of us all out on the track. Stef then went back to pick Steve up.
Standing around waiting for Stef and Steve to return
Mary and Phil have had more issues with towing the camper so a bit more fiddling with tyre pressures. Only once was it necessary to snatch them out of a rough dune.
Well done to all drivers, passengers today, lots of coaching and advice and support to learn a bit more about sand driving.
More views while I wait for others to get across some dunes.
Col comes over. Phil up top capturing ascent of tricky dune.
Shadows.
There might be an anti in there.
This was the only time a snatch recovery was required.
Here they go. Phil only needed assistance to move about 2 metres and he was good to go.
Over they go.
We assisted another driver with his tyre pressures. Only one lot of oncoming traffic a big Earth Cruiser Truck called Ethel and another vehicle travelling West. We let a few groups through ahead of us.
The ‘F’ truck.
Is there a flag coming over that dune?
There’s Col and Greg
Followed by Mary and Phil
Over there come.
Pulled up at Simpson Camp # 3.
With thanks to Phil and Mary and Steve for carrying my Jerry can both empty and full and to Stef for pouring it in tonight we should be right for Birdsville now. I was still around the 3/4 mark, it’s easier to carry it in the tank than on Steve’s roof rack.
Sunset colours.

Having fun doing the dishes.
