9.7.18 Bush Camp off the track to Mt Dare Hotel.

Slept in a little and was warm on another chilly night with a frost and frozen waters again.
Ice and frost on the table
Bacon and egg breaky after Reve and Col got the fire restarted. We had to put dirt on the coals last night due to the wind.

We were up and ready on the road for 9.30.

Further down the Old Andado Track we turned off to Mac Clark Reserve to view these trees.

These Acacia Peuce trees are rare and only occur in a couple of places in Australia

Here I am at the Acacia Peuce stand.

They were really prickly.
After this we headed to Old Andado station, we ate lunch in the campground there and paid a gold coin donation to walk through the Old Homestead. This is the home of Molly Clark who lived here up until her death in 2012 age 89. What a hard and lonely life! Check out a bit of her life at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molly_Clark

More about Old Andado that we visited and had our lunch.

After lunch we headed for Mt Dare. The track was ever changing and passed through cattle country, swamp, gibber plain and sand dunes.

Signs, signs, signs

Nearly there.

Lucky we all have one, can't imagine NOT having one.

Here is the Mayfield Swamp, totally different terrain.

We then crossed from NT to SA and into the conservation reserve.

Bulldust is fine like talcum powder and just floats through the air. It gathers in ruts and potholes and if not careful you just hit it.

Bulldust from someone in front.

Turning towards Mt Dare.

Here we are at Mt Dare. Thanks Milani for the photo.

The bulldust just sits and gathers everywhere.

This was just off the campers back step

Patterns left by hearth brush in the dust

Dinner at Mt Dare.
At Mt Dare we set, had a drink, booked in, ordered tea, set up camp, showered etc then headed back to the pub for tea and to get our Desert Parks Pass to allow us across the Simpson.

Poor Phil’s back door didn’t open again tonight, he purchased some RP70 and sprayed it in to get it open. Same issue as mine the dust is jamming the mechanism.

Then back to camp for bed.
