Between meetings plans are subject to change...
Dear all,
It seems there was more than a passing interest in the Field of Lights at Uluru..........
Therefore Stef and I got thinking - and you know how dangerous that can be. Some wider consultation and we now have scheme 5 (or 6) for consideration:
As we would have to book for the Field of Lights we need to know with some accuracy when we would arrive at Uluru. Coming across deserts and other places makes that problematic.
So, we now propose that we head straight to Uluru, allowing an easy 4 days to do so, and do the Field of Lights thing the night we get there as we can make day 4 an easy drive.
After this we do a bit of a meander, with the following proposed route:
Kings Canyon, Gosse Bluff, Palm Valley, Boggy Hole (to see if Phil and Mary have improved their Finke Rv driving skills), Illamurta Springs, Henbury Meteor Craters, Old Owen Springs.
A restock/washing etc day in Alice??
N'Dhala Gorge, Trephina Gorge, Arltunga, Ruby Gap/Glen Annie Gorge, Cattlewater Pass Track, Arltunga Tourist Drive and back in to Alice.
Chambers Pillar, and hopefully some exploring across to the Old Andado Track, Old Andado, Mt Dare (of course), Dalhousie (to visit Trevor the First), and across the Simpson.
This would put us in Birdsville around the 14th/15th July - of course this is subject to many variables.
We suggest we drop off the Hay River Track for another time.
Phil and Mary would have 5 or 6 days to get to Airlie Beach via Barcaldine.
The rest of us would have 6 or 7 days to head home - via Innamincka (Coongie??), Lake Frome, Yunta.
What do ya all reckon???
Obviously we should have a trip meeting to discuss this. With the June long weekend and our impending departure soon after there aren't a lot of options for dates so in an effort to try to hasten this process, are people available Sun 27 May? Phil has kindly offered Moore St as a venue (I hope Mary is ok with this

).
Let's stitch this up in World Record pace........
